Interchanges in Dumfries
The main bus interchanges within Dumfries are at Burns Statue, Whitesands, Great King Street and the Loreburne Centre. Look at the relevant timetables to determine where your bus service departs/terminates.
Find your nearest stop
Find your nearest stop by using the Travelline Scotland Stopfinder. Once you have found your bus stop code, you can find the next departures from your nearest stop on the Travelline site. Alternatively, find your nearest stop by looking on the GoBus map.
Many of the bus interchanges in Dumfries town centre now have "real-time" electronic travel information screens, providing live or timetable information on your bus services. Travel Information screens are in place at Whitesands, Burns Statue, Great King Street and the Loreburne Centre. These screens show the next few bus services due to arrive at each of the locations.
In addition to providing travel information, the screens also provide real time travel information on service 500 from Stranraer to Dumfries and 5 from Dumfries to the Crichton/Infirmary. These services have had GPS receivers installed, informing you of their exact arrival time so you will be informed of any delay to the service. If you're leaving the college or the hospital, find out the next bus arriving to take you to your destination on the travel information screens located at the college and hospital reception entrances and day surgery.
You can get bus information straight to your mobile phone by texting Traveline. Simply text the 8-digit bus stop reference at your bus stop to 0777 608 2608 and you will get back the departures times of the next few buses from your stop.
