GoSmart expands into Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright

GoSmart is rolling out to the rest of Dumfries and Galloway starting in Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright. Through our experience in Dumfries we are tailoring our service to the individual locations working with the local community and partner organisations. In the first instance we have produced Active travel mapping of Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright which can be found below.

Car Club

Car Club operator Co-Wheels will be officially launched in Dumfries on Tuesday 20th November 2012, with six vehicles available for public hire.

What is a Car Club?

Car clubs give people a safer, cleaner and greener way to access cars when they need them.

They are easily accessible, parked in their own designated parking bays across town at the train station, DGOne and Ewart Library. You'll never have to fight for a parking space again!

It's very simple to use. Maintenance, paperwork, insurance and tax are all included! And you just need to use a smart card to unlock the car.

It's a cheaper alternative to running your own car, with a monthly fee of as little as £5 a month. Research has shown that it can save drivers as much as £3,500 a year!

Registering with Co-wheels will also give you access to book any of their cars across the UK. Find out where you could go here

Registering is so simple,

  1. Click on the link to go to the CoWheels online registration page, it only takes 5 minutes.
  2. You will get a short telephone call from Co-Wheels to complete licence validation.
  3. You will receive a smart-card to give you access to the vehicles.
