Why travel by bus?

It's cheaper

Using the bus can be cheaper than filling up the car with fuel.

Enjoy the ride

Have a mindful journey while you're chauffeured to your destination. You can use it as a chance to catch up on that book you're reading or podcast you're listening to.

It's greener

A 20 minute journey by bus reduces your carbon footprint by 3.1kg, that's enough to boil 51 kettles.

Travelling safely by bus during Covid-19

Transport providers will have procedures to promote the safety of customers and staff, but it is an individual's responsibility to comply with guidance.
On public transport you must by law wear a face covering, unless you are exempt, and comply with the physical distancing measures that are in place. Find out more about face coverings.
If you can walk or cycle please do as this will save space on public transport for those who need it.

"I regularly purchase a weekly bus pass for Dumfries Zone 1 and it saves me at least £20 a week, a lot cheaper than using the car"- Colin Lindt (D&G resident)
