Travelling safely by bus during Covid-19

Transport providers will have procedures to promote the safety of customers and staff, but it is an individual's responsibility to comply with guidance.
On public transport you must by law wear a face covering, unless you are exempt, and comply with the physical distancing measures that are in place. Find out more about face coverings.
If you can walk or cycle please do as this will save space on public transport for those who need it.

1.   Find your nearest bus stop using the GoBus map here.

2.   The main bus interchanges in Dumfries and Galloway are:

Gretna: Central Avenue

Annan: Butts Street

Lockerbie: High Street (Crown Inn and Opp. Crown Inn)

Dumfries: Burns Statue , Whitesands, Great King Street  and the Loreburne Centre  

Castle Douglas: Castle Douglas Swimming Pool

Dalbeattie: High Street (Maxwell Arms  and Opp. Maxwell Arms )

Kirkcudbright: Harbour Square

Newton Stewart: Dashwood Square

Stranraer: Port Rodie

3.   Traveline Scotland provide 24 hour information on 0871 200 2233 (calls charged at 12p per min) and a Txt2Traveline service that will send bus information straight to your mobile phone.

Text the 8-digit bus stop reference found at your bus stop to 84268 and you will be sent the departure times of the next few buses from your stop.  The returned message costs 25p.

4.   Community Transport

A variety of organisations make transport available to people who find public transport difficult to use. If you don't live on a public transport route or have limited mobility they can help. Find your nearest Community Transport on the council website.
